Hello. My name is Alison Dovidio. I love graphic and web design. Anything creative and it is for me!
I have a strong background in marketing and multimedia design. I am compelled by the latest design trends and newest technology.
Q: How long have you been a graphic and web designer?
A: 4 years
Q: Do you have a degree in design?
A: I have a Bachelor of Science from Merrimack College in Marketing and Digital Media. My educational background is a unique blend of design, business, internet technology, graphics design and art.
I also have a Masters Certification from Clark University in Visual Communications- Graphic and Web Design.
Q: Where do you find inspiration for design projects?
A: Over the years, I have acquired an impressive collection of books, images and objects that I feel fascinating or ascetically unique. I fill my work environment with these items and pull inspiration from them.
Before starting a project I analyze the client’s wants and needs and ultimately determine the target audience. Once these specs have been laid out, I then look for inspiration that would appeal to the target audience within my collection. I examine web sites and digital assets of direct competitors and those within the same industry as well as the latest in design trends.
Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
A: I love working on creative projects. But my favorite part of my job is when a client is happy with my work. It makes all my efforts worth it when a client is extremely proud of their project.
Music:
“Music is your own experience, your thoughts, your wisdom.” - Charlie Parker. Live music is an addiction of mine. I love seeing music live all over the country, following my favorite bands and discovering new talent, while making friends along the way.
Some of my favorite bands include moe., Ryan Montbleau Band, Grateful Dead and Phish.
Boston:
It's a great city and I can't get enough!
Favorite Foods:
Everyone must have a “top five”! My top five favorite foods include chocolate, mushrooms, shepherd’s pie, pickles and sushi.
Favorite Movies & Television Series:
Fight Club, Hot Rod, Puddle Cruisers, The Notebook, Revolver, Lucky Number Slevin, Dexter, Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Ultimate Fighter, Californication and the occasional reality TV show.
Hobbies:
I love watching and following the UFC. Other hobbies include cooking new recipes, gardening, darts, arts and crafts and bargain shopping.
